Box Office Job Description

PURPOSE: To make the audience's first connection with Waukesha Civic Theatre a professional and pleasurable one, thereby adding to the general perception of quality offered by this theatre.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ticket sales & exchanges in person, over phone, & by mail

  • Cash box reconciliation & bank deposit

  • Training of house volunteer staff

  • Some volunteer recruitment

  • Some tracking & reporting

  • Updating of mailing list or other clerical duties as time affords



EXPECTED RESULTS:

  • Correct & smooth seating of house

  • Friendly, professional house staff

  • Accurate counts

  • Happy customers


TIME REQUIRED:

2 hours prior - 1/2 hr. following curtain

LENGTH OF COMMITMENT:

Yearly

EXPECTED START:

As soon as possible

RESPONSIBLE TO:

Box Office Supervisor and Marketing Director

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Good with figures

  • Organized/detail oriented

SALARY:

$7.50 per hour

House Management Job Description

PURPOSE: To make the audience's overall experience with Waukesha Civic Theatre a professional and pleasurable one, thereby adding to the general perception of quality offered by this theatre.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervising ushers

  • Stocking and restocking lobby and bathrooms

  • Coordinating concessions

  • Monetary exchanges

  • Communicating with the stage manager

  • Starting each act on time

  • Effectively dealing with emergencies and patrons

  • Ensure the safety of patrons, staff and volunteers



EXPECTED RESULTS:

  • Correct & smooth seating of house

  • Friendly, professional house staff

TIME REQUIRED:

1 1/2 hours prior – 1/2 hour after curtain
