We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. Now, we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. On Tuesday, November 29, 2016, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.

It’s a simple idea. Just find a way for your family, your community, your company or your organization to come together to give something more. Then tell everyone you can about how you are giving. Join us and be a part of a global celebration of a new tradition of generosity.

As a non-profit organization, Waukesha Civic Theatre relies on community contributions to raise approximately 40% of our operating budget. There are many ways that you can support the Waukesha Civic Theatre. We would like to encourage our patrons, friends, and fans to kick off the giving season on Tuesday, November 29, #GivingTuesday, by making a donation to our theatre.

This year, #GivingTuesday donations will support our education and outreach programs:
$5 from 10 people will underwrite one Pee Wee Players scholarship
$10 from 10 people will provide fencing equipment for one student
$25 from 10 people will underwrite two summer classes for a new student
$50 from 10 people will underwrite the instructor for a new outreach program

Additionally, we would encourage you, during this season of giving, to find ways to help not just our theatre but the community as a whole. Whether it is monetary donations or volunteering your time, your help is needed and appreciated all over the community. After the extreme shopping frenzy of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, give back on #GivingTuesday.
